What is water aeration?

How Water Aeration Works

You may have heard of a process called "water aeration." Aeration allows volatile contaminants to be broken down when water is separated into small droplets in the air. This is most commonly used in sink faucet aeration tips. Water looks bubbly as it leaves the tap. However, contaminants that are removed from water by aeration are transferred to the air, where they may be capable of posing a health threat. In larger aeration equipment, fresh air is drawn through the spray, collected in a storage tank, repressurized, and then passed through a filter.
